BEVERLY, MA – The New England Hot Dog Company, famous for its gourmet “haute” dogs and unique, creative toppings, will be opening four sets of doors in Atlantic City, NJ, this May. A restaurant, a kiosk, a cart and a trailer will join forces to serve up a wealth of convenient and appetizing choices for tourists and locals on The Walk, the area’s premier shopping outlet.

“To land a deal in Atlantic City is very exciting,” says Richard Saxe, president of New England Hot Dog Company. “It’s a break we’ve been waiting for and it’s a major step for the company.”

Saxe and his management team, which includes his brother, Steve, chose Sam Reale to manage the new sites. Reale, a former restaurant owner/entertainer in the area, will team up with his 21-year-old daughter, Alexa. The duo will also oversee two or three ice cream carts on The Walk—all under the New England Hot Dog Company name.

“I liked the idea and how they do things,” Reale says of the company. “I think it’s a golden opportunity for the area.”

The Atlantic City sites join Freehold and Sewell as places to enjoy delicious New England dogs in the Garden State. Launched four years ago, the company also has locations in Taunton and Plymouth—both in Massachusetts—and is currently eyeing expansion opportunities in Miami-Dade Country, FL, Manchester, NH, Baltimore and Philadelphia.

Each location boasts one exclusive local dog, and all use top-tier Boar’s Head products and New England-style rolls. All sites also offer myriad toppings, including sauerkraut, beans, bacon, jalapeno, guacamole, roasted peppers, cheddar cheese, Buffalo sauce and a collection of mustards. Outside of the edible delights, free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs—featuring news, sports, and children’s shows—and The Dog Pound—a small area where kids can play—provide entertainment and a family-friendly touch to the 1,500 square-foot restaurants that seat about 25 people.

“In these times, we give people the chance to go out and feed a family of four or five for $25,” says Saxe.
